COURSE TITLE: Understanding & Maximizing Consumer Credit Scores (Program #MS604C001LE)

COURSE OUTLINE: This course is an introduction for real estate professionals to understanding FICO scores currently used by the majority of mortgage lenders in determining consumer credit worthiness. The course explores how credit reports are developed, how FICO credit scores are calculated and what data is used in determining a consumer’s credit score. Instruction is provided on the proper steps involved in correcting erroneous credit data contained in a consumer credit file. The focus of the course is on useful, hands-on practical applications used by credit grantors to assist the consumer in maximizing their FICO scores through use of Internet based software tools. Because many consumers have FICO scores that are artificially lower than they should be due to inaccurate data on their credit files and because of mismanagement of the credit data contained in their credit files particular attention is paid to personalized credit management and optimization solutions available to the real estate professional. This course will assist the real estate professional in understanding the importance of credit score optimization in the current marketplace and how to use the available optimization systems to help consumer buyers.
